ITINERARY

DAY ONE>

Fly to Delhi, India

Transfer from West Michigan to Chicago O’Hare airport by provided shuttle for our flight to India’s impressive capital, Delhi!

Our flight will include all meals, beverages, and entertainment.

DAY TWO>

Delhi, India

Arrive in Delhi this evening. After clearing customs, collecting luggage, and exchanging currency; we will proceed to our private bus that will take us to our centrally located upscale hotel.

 

After we check-in to the hotel, we will have the evening to relax and unwind.

DAY THREE>

Delhi, India

This morning, we will meet our local Indian tour guide for a jam-packed, introductory tour of the city! Visit sites such as:

  • Jama Masjid Mosque

  • Rickshaw Ride through Chandni Chowk

  • Red Fort

  • Garden of the 5 Senses

  • Arkshardham

  • Lotus Temple

  • And so much more!

 

Afterwards, enjoy free time to relax

DAY FOUR>

Today is a free day to wake up at your leisure and explore on your own or opt for one of these fun excursions!

DAY FIVE>

Delhi & Agra, India

After breakfast, we will continue our visit in Delhi with a visit to Humayun’s Tomb; a memorial of Mughal Emperor Humayun built in the 16th century!

Next, view the India Gate and the President’s House (the official residence of the President of India).

We will then journey on to Agra, passing scenic villages and landscapes along the way.

This evening, we will check-in to the hotel in Agra and have the evening to relax and unwind.

DAY SIX>

Agra, India

This morning, view the majestic Taj Mahal at sunrise. This astounding piece of architecture has dominated the list as one of the Seven Wonders of the World! Admire this amazing landscape in the early morning glow of the peaceful sunrise.

Afterwards, we will proceed to the Agra Fort. This amazing red sandstone fortress stands on the banks of the river Yamuna.

In the evening, we will make our way to Kalakriti for the spectacular "Mohabbat The Taj" show, which beautifully narrates the love story behind the Taj Mahal through dance and music.

DAY SEVEN>

Jaipur, India

This morning, we will check-out of our hotel and transfer to the pink city of Jaipur, which is the state capital of Rajasthan!

On our way, we will stop at the Fatehpur Sikri. This historic landmark was the former fortress and capital of the Mughal Empire in the 16th century.

After arriving in Jaipur city and checking into our hotel, enjoy free time.

DAY EIGHT>

Jaipur, India

Today, we will proceed to the Amber Fort and enjoy the breathtaking panoramic views at the top of the Aravali Hills, overlooking Maota Lake.

Following touring the beautiful Amber Fort, we will head to the Jal Mahal, an enchanting water palace that is surrounded by Man Sagar Lake!

Afterwards, enjoy strolling through the Royal City Palace. This is a wonderful example of 16th century intricate architecture.

Our tour will continue with a visit to the Palace of the Winds (Hawa Mahal). This 19th century, massive 5 story castle, features pink sandstone, remarkable latticework, and more than 900 intricately carved windows on the façade that would bring cooling breezes to the palace during the hottest months in India.

This evening, we will stop at Jantar Mantar, a UNESCO World Heritage site that features the most historic and best-preserved astronomical observatory in India. It has fascinating celestial instruments and the world’s largest sundial.

DAY NINE>

Jaipur & Delhi, India

This morning, choose to wake up slow, enjoy the resort, and relax by the pool.

 

In the late afternoon, we head to the airport for a short domestic flight to Delhi. Our private coach will meet us at the airport and transfer us to our hotel for some rest and relaxation.

Sample the famous street foods of Jaipur during a food tour led by an informative local guide. Sample as many as six dishes at a variety of different places that are popular among those who are in-the-know, providing you with an insider's experience of the Rajasthani capital's food culture. DAY TEN>

Fly Home OR Extension to Bhutan

Today, we will say goodbye to the passengers flying home and the rest of us will continue our adventure on a non-stop flight to Bhutan! This famously isolated country in the Eastern Himalayas has a unique, authentic culture that measures its success on the gross national happiness of the nation.

Upon arriving in Paro, Bhutan, our private coach will meet us at the airport and transfer us to the amazing capital city of Thimphu. Along our journey, we will stop at the Buddha Dordenma in the Thimphu Valley, for views of a massive statue of Buddha.

Next, we will visit the BBS Tower for scenic panoramic views of the city, before continuing on to the Takin Zoo to view the national animal, the Takin, in addition to other exotic animals.

 

Finally, we will check in to our hotel in Thimphu and have the evening to relax.

DAY ELEVEN>

Thimphu & Paro, Bhutan

This morning, we will proceed to the Zorig Chusum School of Arts and Crafts and learn about traditional Bhutanese arts.

Next, we will head to the Folk Heritage Museum and the historic Tashichho Dzong Fortress and Monastery. This impressive complex now serves as the Bhutanese civil government headquarters.

After lunch, we will make our way to the city of Paro. Along the way we will stop at Kyichu Lhakhang Temple. This is the oldest and most sacred temple in the country!

Afterwards, we will proceed to the National Museum and Paro Ta Dzong to learn about the history and culture of this exotic nation.

Lastly, we will check-in to our hotel in Paro and enjoy an evening of shopping for souvenirs and artisan crafts in the city. We will have time to taste the delicious cuisine of the eastern Himalayas, and leisurely explore at our own pace.

DAY TWELVE>

Paro, Bhutan

After breakfast, hike to Taktsang Monastery, also known as ‘Tiger’s Nest’. Enjoy a spectacular view of the monastery clinging to the side of the mountainous cliff. Along the way, we will stop for refreshments at the View Point Cafeteria.

 

After visiting the monastery, stop for lunch at the viewpoint cafeteria and then walk further down to the road to meet our coach.

This afternoon, we will drive to the UNESCO World Heritage site of Drukgyel Dzong. This landmark features a fortress and Buddhist monastery that was originally built in the 17th century.

DAY THIRTEEN>

Dhaka, Bangladesh

Today, we will say goodbye to our guide in Bhutan and proceed to the airport for our non-stop flight to Bangladesh’s capital city of Dhaka.

After we check-in to our hotel, we have time to relax before we meet our local guide for a city tour of this capital! See sites such as:

• Shahbagh Market
• Dhakeshwari Temple

• Bara Katra
• Star Mosque
• And so much more!

After, head back to the hotel for rest and relaxation.

DAY FOURTEEN>

Dhaka, Bangladesh

Today is a free day in Bangladesh to wake up slow and enjoy breakfast at the hotel before you adventure at your own pace or join us for one of these amazing optional excursions!

OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS:

• Sonargaon & Panam City Tour

Experience the rich, cultural heritage of Sonargaon and Panam on this full day tour! Panam Nagar was known as the epi-center of commerce in the 19th century for Hindu cotton merchants. Explore the Folk Arts and Crafts museum in Sonargaon. Next, adventure to the Goaldi Mosque, and more. After, enjoy a scenic cruise on the Meghna River and experience the local village on a small sandbank island.


Dhaka Food and Heritage Tour
