ITINERARY
DAY ONE>
Fly to Ecuador
Transfer to the Grand Rapids or Chicago airport to take your flight to Ecuador. If Chicago, we will provide transportation from West Michigan.
Enjoy a comfortable flight on a full-service airline where you will have full meal service, complimentary alcoholic beverages, in-flight personal entertainment, and premium comfort.
Arrive later this day to Ecuadors enchanting capital city: Quito! You will transfer to your centrally located hotel in the lovely historical district of Quito to relax and unwind.
DAY TWO>
Quito, Ecuador
This morning, join your local Ecuadorian tour guide as they take you on an in-depth walking tour of this amazing city. Visit sites such as:

DAY THREE>
Quito, Ecuador
Adventure through the city at your own pace or opt for one of our exciting excursions!
OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS:

Papallacta Hot Springs and Birdwatching Reserve
Your local guide will take you to the lush Andean forest to Papallacta and experience hot springs warmed by the nearby volcanoes. Next, you will head to the best location for birdwatching at a nearby nature reserve. After, enjoy a traditional lunch before transferring back to Quito.

Quilotoa Lagoon Day Tour
Marvel at the vivid turquoise volcanic crater lake of Laguna Quilotoa carved into the Andean countryside south of Quito. Have a delicious lunch and hike around the crater with views of the Cotopaxi Mountains on the horizon. Kayaking in the lagoon will also be an option as well as hiring mules to take you back up the mountain afterwards if you don't wish to hike. Finally, you will visit the Toachi Canyon lookout with vast biodiversity and amazing vistas.

DAY FOUR>
Quito, Ecuador
Today, the group will travel to the famous Mindo Cloud Forest for a full-day tour. Adventure into the misty jungle on a walk with your local guide. Take a scenic cable car across the valley and keep your camera ready to capture stunning pictures of wildlife, waterfalls, butterflies, and endemic birds of the cloud forest.
Afterwards, enjoy a delicious included lunch before you visit an adorable butterfly greenhouse. You will finish your visit with a trip to Yumbo Artisan Chocolate shop for a tasty treat.

Today is a free day to explore the city, relax, or choose one of our amazing optional excursions.

Get away from the city and breathe in the fresh mountain air. You will arrive at a traditional hacienda and dress up like a local "Chagra" in an Andean Poncho for your horseback riding excursion through the countryside. After, hike the Cotopaxi volcano surrounded by ancient dried lava flow. View stunning mountains, lakes, and exotic wildlife along the way.

Cuenca, Ecuador
Transfer to the airport for your short domestic flight to historic Cuenca, Ecuador! Upon arriving, transfer to your beautiful hotel and later enjoy a guided tour of the highlights of Cuenca. You'll visit the sites such as:

DAY SEVEN>
Cuenca, Ecuador
Today you will board a private chartered coach and take a half-day tour to visit Cajas National Park. It is a UNESCO World Heritage Site known to be the most beautiful, landscape in Ecuador. Your local guide will point out rare plants and wildlife along the way. Bring your binoculars. If you're lucky, you may spot some wild llamas!
Afterwards, there will be free time in the evening to enjoy the city of Cuenca.

DAY EIGHT>
Cuenca, Ecuador
Today is a free day to rest, relax, shop, and explore the beautiful city of Cuenca, Ecuador. We have one optional excursion listed for this day.

Ingapirca Ruins Archeological Park Full-Day Tour
On this full-day tour, you will learn about ancient Incan architecture and the civilization of this preserved landscape. On the way back to Cuenca, you will stop at colorful boutiques for shopping, visit a stunning cathedral and see handiwork crafted by local artisans.

DAY NINE>
Quito, Ecuador
Today, you will transfer back to the airport and head back to Quito. After dropping off your baggage at the hotel, enjoy a gondola ride up the mountain for breathtaking panoramic views of the city.
Afterwards, you will be treated to a delicious farewell group dinner near the hotel. This restaurant is top-rated for its traditional Ecuadorean dishes.
