ITINERARY
DAY ONE>
Fly to Berlin, Germany
Transfer from Grand Rapids or Chicago O’Hare Airport for our flight to Germany’s impressive capital, Berlin! Our flight will include all meals, beverages, and entertainment. If the Chicago option is decided, we will provide roundtrip private shuttle transportation from West Michigan to the Chicago O’Hare Airport.
DAY TWO>
Berlin, Germany
Arrive in Berlin this morning. After clearing customs, collecting luggage, and exchanging currency, we will proceed to our private bus that will take us to our centrally located hotel. After settling into our rooms, we will meet our local German tour guide in Altstadt (old town) Berlin. They will take us on an in-depth cultural walking tour of the city. Visit sites such as:

Berlin, Germany
Enjoy a visit to the Berlin Botanical Garden today, which is the 2nd largest botanical garden in the world! The sheer size and lush density of the plant life are astounding. View exotic and endangered plants that thrive in this environment. The garden features 100 acres of gardens, 22,000 plant species, 16 greenhouses, waterfalls, and more!
Afterwards, you will have a free day in Berlin where you can opt for one of our fun optional excursions!

Today, voyage by high-speed train southward to the exciting Bavarian city of Munich! Munich is host to several of Europe’s largest breweries and tons of great museums. When we arrive, we will transfer to our centrally located hotel and have time to relax and unwind.

Today is a free day to adventure through the city, relax, or choose one of our cool excursions!

Visit the famous Viktualienmarkt Food Market, beer gardens, and other local gems on this delicious tour of the city! Come hungry to taste delicious dishes and learn about the time-honored techniques of German beer brewing.

Dive into the humbling history of the atrocities that happened in WWII. We will travel by train and bus to the memorial site. Next, our skip-the-line tickets will grant us access to the sites where we will earn about the dark history as we view the barracks, cells, and crematoriums.

Day Tour through Rothenberg and Harburg
Travel through time on Germany’s most picturesque route, the Romantic Road. We will stop at the 11th-century Harburg Castle and continue on to Rothenberg. This village is a beautifully preserved medieval town with cobbled lanes, and half-timbered houses.

DAY EIGHT>
Neuschwanstein Castle
Today, we will traverse by coach to the see the beautiful sights of the Bavarian countryside and explore the castles of Neuschwanstein and Linderhof! Choose to take an interior tour of King Ludwig II’s rococo-style castle that has inspired Disney’s Sleeping Beauty castle. There will be time to also explore the village of Hohenschwangau before heading to the Linderhof Castle. Feel free to adventure the lavished home and grounds at your own leisure. Afterwards, enjoy a bonus stop in the beautiful city of Oberammergau for shopping and taking pictures before heading back to Munich.

DAY NINE>
Fly Home OR Extension to Switzerland
Today, we will say goodbye to the passengers flying home and the rest of us will continue our adventure on to Switzerland by train. Lucerne has been rated as the most beautiful village in all of Switzerland as its nestled between snow-capped mountains and a pristine lake. We will check-in to our hotel in the afternoon and enjoy a guided walking tour of the highlights of Lucerne.
Our guide will take you through the alleys of Old Town, the famous wooden Chapel Bridge, and the “mournful and moving” Lion Monument.

DAY TEN>
Lucerne, Switzerland
This morning, tour the magnificent bays of Lake Lucerne aboard an elegant yacht on this 1-hour cruise. Sit back and relax on the main deck or upper deck while your expert captain takes you along Switzerland’s most stunning lake, surrounded by majestic mountain peaks, forests and meadows.

DAY ELEVEN>
Interlaken & Grindelwald, Switzerland
Immerse yourself in the Alpine beauty of Interlaken and Grindelwald on a full-day tour of the majestic mountain region from Lucerne. Take in the enchanting scenery as we travel to Interlaken; a gorgeous resort located at the foot of the Bernese Oberland Alps. Spend some leisurely free time exploring independently. Next, we head to Grindelwald, known as ‘Glacier Village’ due to its impressive array of glaciers. Choose to ascend the summit of Mount First by cable car to see stunning panoramas of the surrounding sights before returning to Lucerne.

Zurich, Switzerland
Today, we will take the train to the famous city of Zurich! This is a colorful, eclectic place where the Limmat River carves through the scenic city to the northern shores of Lake Zurich with views of the Swiss Alps in the distance.
After we check-in to our hotel, there is free time to explore the city.
