ITINERARY

DAY ONE>

Fly to Brazil

Transfer via provided shuttle from West Michigan area to Chicago O’Hare International Airport to take your flight to Brazil!

Enjoy a comfortable flight on a full-service airline where you will have full meal service, complimentary alcoholic beverages, in-flight personal entertainment, and premium comfort.

DAY TWO>

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Arrive in Rio.  After clearing customs and retrieving baggage, transfer to your hotel to relax and unwind. Later, join your local Brazilian tour guide who will take you on a walking tour of Downtown Rio, where you will visit and learn about:

  • Travessa do Comércio

  • XV Square

  • Colombo Bakery

  • Paço Imperial (Imperial Palace)

  • Cinelandia

  • Municipal Theater

  • National Library

  • Lapa

  • Selarón Stairs

  • & Much More!
     

Have lunch in the city center and later head to the famous Christ the Redeemer Statue, one of the 7 Wonders of the World!

Free time afterwards.

OPTIONAL EXCURSION:

  • Rio Open-Sunset Sailboat Cruise

           

Sail along Guanabara Bay just as the sun is setting below the horizon and experience Rio when it starts to come to life. This small-group sailing adventure is a perfect way to relax and see the sites such as the Museum of Contemporary Art, Sugarloaf Mountain, and the Rio-Niteroi Bridge. Relax with complimentary drinks and light snacks while you sail.

DAY THREE>

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

After breakfast, head over to Sugarloaf Mountain to take the aerial cars to the summit and enjoy the breathtaking views overlooking the entire city.

 

Later, join your local guide for a nice stroll through town as they give you the cultural history of the country while exploring less-visited spots for a real authentic experience.

Free time afterwards (or opt for one of our optional excursions!)

OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS:

           

  • Tijuca Rainforest Jeep Tour

           

Ride through Tijuca National Park's rainforest in an open-top Jeep during this half-day trip from Rio. During this guided eco-tour, hike through the forest to spot sloths, butterflies, monkeys, and birds. Enjoy panoramic views from Vista Chinesa (Chinese View) and marvel at the stunning views all around you.

 

  • Brazilian Samba & Folklore Show

           

While in Rio de Janeiro, go out for a night in the city to see the live show Ginga Tropical at Leblon Theater! This 1.5-hour show gives you an interactive tour of Brazilian culture through dance, music, and live performance. Watch as artists combine frevo, Capoeira, and other methods of entertainment. At the end of the show, you can even join in as the cast invites the audience to samba with them in a Carnival-inspired finale.

Rio de Janeiro, Petrópolis, or Buzios, Brazil

  • Petrópolis Day Tour

Explore the mountain retreat of Petrópolis on this full-day guided tour. Once a summer holiday destination for the royalty of Brazil, Petrópolis features landmarks like the Crystal Palace, the Imperial Museum and the burial place of Dom Pedro II. 
- Visit St Peter of Alcantara Cathedral and observe royal burial sites. 
- Discover royal memorabilia, jewels and historical artifacts at the Imperial Museum
- Stand amazed inside the glass-and-steel solarium of the Crystal Palace.

 

  • Buzios Day Tour

Get a taste of local life on a full-day trip to the blissful beaches and charming monuments of Buzios. DAY FIVE>

Rio de Janeiro, Brazil

Enjoy a relaxing day hopping between the famous Ipanema and Copacabana Beaches, known not only for their amazing beach-scenes, but also for their chic boutiques and restaurants.

 

If beach time isn’t your thing, you may opt for one of the day trips mentioned in Day 4 or another optional excursion.

OPTIONAL EXCURSIONS:

 

  • Rio Soccer Game

Enjoy the electric atmosphere of a Brazilian football (soccer) match featuring Rio's major teams.  Join the thousands of enthusiastic fans at one of the city's stadiums to cheer on the local team!

  • Small-Group Brazilian Cooking Class

Immerse yourself in the culinary scene of Rio on this interactive evening at a small cooking studio. Learn about the flavors, ingredients and cooking techniques specific to Brazilian food from your instructor. Cook a meal, either Bahian seafood Moqueca or a black bean Feijoada, using what you learned and then enjoy the fruits of your labor.

DAY SIX>

Foz do Iguaçu, Brazil

After breakfast, head to the airport for your non-stop flight to Foz do Iguaçu: home to the largest waterfall system in the world, Iguazu Falls!

Transfer to your centrally located hotel to unwind, and then head straight to Iguaçu National Park for a day of sightseeing at the Brazilian side of the falls.

Free time afterwards.

  • Adventure Under-the-Falls Boat Ride

Get as close to the roaring falls as possible in this exhilarating boat ride that takes you all around to different viewpoints of the waterfalls.

DAY SEVEN>

Puerto Iguazú, Argentina

After breakfast, cross the border into Argentina and enjoy a fun-filled day exploring Iguazú National Park on the Argentine side!

 

Explore the thick Iguazú jungle via the Rainforest Ecological Train for an up-close look at the flora and fauna.

 

Enjoy a train ride to the famous Devil’s Throat, one of the most impressive parts of the falls.

 

Free time afterwards.

 

Later, cross back into Brazil to transfer back to your hotel.

 

OPTIONAL EXCURSION:

           

  • Argentine Dinner & Cooking Experience

             

The unique dinner party's concept is to teach you the fundamentals of what being an Argentine is all about, whilst simply having more fun than is available anywhere else. Learn how to close your own empanada using the 'repulge' technique, to order steak your way in Spanish, to prepare your own 'mate' drink, and much more!

DAY EIGHT>

Ciudad del Este, Paraguay

After breakfast, join your local guide across the border to Paraguay for some shopping and insight into this lesser known country.

 

After lunch, transfer back to your hotel in Brazil for a little relaxation before heading to the airport for your flight back to Rio de Janeiro.

 

Transfer flights in Rio and fly back to the USA.

DAY NINE>

Arrive Home

Arrive back in Chicago and take the provided shuttle back to West Michigan.
